How to order a TotalPac2

08-09-01:  REVISED !

Ordering a Viking TotalPac2 with the New Conventional Trim and the VFR-400 Releasing Panel has been simplified.  Units are still made up by adding various options together until a complete unit is obtained, but the main unit component includes a lot more items than before.

Indeed, a basic system now includes the system valve, its releasing trim and its supporting assembly, whether it is a skid, a remote controlled cabinet without control panel or a self-contained unit with control panel.  And all this is included under a single part number.

You will notice that the Configuration Form now resembles a matrix and is much easier to use than before.  For easy use, it is divided into 10 sections which follow the way the new User Manuals are also designed:

1.        Preaction Systems (Non, Single & Double Interlock);

2.        Deluge Systems;

3.        Wet Pipe Systems;

4.        Dry Pipe Systems (both normal & HP);

5.        Firecycle III Systems;

6.        Surefire Systems.

And it is followed by:

7.        System Options (Shut-off Valve, FD Connection, etc.);

8.        VFR-400 Control Panel Options (zones, relays, batteries, etc.);

9.        Air Supplies (the usual 4 styles – A,B,C & D), and then,

10.      Air Supply Options (Dehydrator, Accelerator, etc.).

To order a Totalpac2 using the new Configuration Form:

  1. Select the type of system required on your project (preaction, deluge, dry, etc…).

  2. Choose the style of system required (skid mounted, remote controlled or self-contained) and its release system (electric, pneumatic, etc.).

  3. Follow this line to the proper part number under the column of the system size (TotalPac2 units are still available under 5 sizes:  1½", 2", 3", 4" and 6" diam.).  This is the part number that should be ordered.

  4. Add the required system options to complete your order and you are done !

Three basic configurations are available to form a complete unit:

Viking TotalPac2:  Integrated sprinkler systems cabinets

Skid Units include only the basic Valve Trim and its required Releasing Trim.  Electrical components have to be wired and connected on-site by the contractor.  Grooved end or flanged connections are provided for water supply, drain and system riser pipes.  Remote releasing control panel and air compressor (if required) have to be purchased separately (they are not provided by FireFlex Systems Inc.) and installed by the contractor on-site.  Every Skid Unit is supplied with its own User Manual and is also serialized for after sales support.  Serial Number format is TOTSxxxx.

Remote Controlled Units are composed of the basic Valve Trim and its required Releasing Trim, enclosed in a sturdy 14 gauge steel cabinet with two front doors and a contractor field wiring junction box on top of the cabinet.  All electrical components are factory pre-wired to the field wiring terminal strip with wiring schematics included on the internal face of one of the front doors.  Grooved end or flanged connections are provided for water supply, drain and system riser pipes.  Four different air supply options are available and are factory assembled inside the cabinet.  Remote releasing control panel, if required, has to be purchased separately (they are not provided by FireFlex Systems Inc.) and installed by the contractor on-site.  Every Remote Controlled Unit is supplied with its own User Manual and is also serialized for after sales support.  Serial Number format is TOT2xxxx.

Self Contained Units are composed of a Remote Controlled Unit as described above plus a Release Control Panel Enclosure added on top of the cabinet instead of the field wiring junction box.  All electrical components are factory pre-wired to the Viking VFR-400 Control Panel, with wiring schematics included on the internal face of the right front door.  Grooved end or flanged connections are provided for water supply, drain and system riser pipes.  Four different air supply options are available and are also factory assembled within the cabinet.  Every self-contained unit is supplied with its own User Manual and is also serialized for after sales support.  Serial Number format is TOT2xxxx.
