Wet Pipe TotalPac2

TotalPac2 Wet Pipe units utilize a Viking Model J-1 Alarm Check Valve that opens by the fusing of a sprinkler head.  The valve is designed to initiate an alarm during a sustained flow of water (such as the flow required by an open sprinkler) by opening an optional water motor alarm and/or alarm pressure switch.  An external by-pass trim with retard chamber or jockey pump serves to prevent unwanted alarms at lower flows.

A TotalPac2 Wet Pipe system is a fixed fire protection system using piping filled with pressurized water, supplied from a dependable source.  Only those sprinklers immediately over or adjacent to the fire operate, minimizing water damage.

Application:  Application is any structure not subject to freezing, to automatically protect the structure, contents and/or personnel from loss due to fire.  The structure must be substantial enough to support the piping system filled with water.  One Wet Pipe system may cover an area up to 52,000 sq.ft. (4830.8 sq.m) in a single fire area.

Small unheated areas of a building may also be protected by a wet system if an antifreeze loop or auxiliary dry system is installed.
