FireFlex system size: 1.5 inch to 6 inch
System size refers to the nominal size of the system trim and riser connections. It directly affects hydraulic capacity, expected flow range, physical cabinet or skid dimensions, and field piping coordination.
General sizing guidance
- 1.5 inch and 2 inch: typically used for smaller systems or lower flow ranges
- 3 inch and 4 inch: common mid-range sizes for many commercial applications
- 5 inch: if offered in the selector, use only where the project hydraulics and available configuration support it
- 6 inch: used for larger system demand and higher flow applications
When to choose a larger size
Choose a larger size when the hydraulic calculations require more flow, the protected area is larger, equivalent pipe length and drain requirements increase, or the project standardizes on larger risers.
Important selection note
System size should never be chosen by preference alone. It should match the hydraulic design, water supply, required flow, and the available approved configuration for the selected system type.
